AS9120 Award is the internationally recognised industry standard for quality and risk management in the aerospace world

The Kingsbridge based European arm of Ed Fagan Incorporated, renowned for cutting edge materials and expertise, is celebrating winning the coveted AS9120 accreditation. Usually reserved for the likes of BAE Systems and Airbus, the AS9120 award is the internationally recognised industry standard for quality and risk management in the aerospace world. Ed Fagan received the award at the recent West of England Aerospace conference from CEO Simon Young who said “WEAF is delighted to see Ed Fagan Europe gain AS accreditation – timely recognition of this vibrant company’s commitment to outstanding quality and business excellence.  Together with their SC21 Bronze status, Ed Fagan Europe is a great example of how aerospace businesses in the South West invest in their people, products and processes to ensure they can compete on a global basis.”

With only the highest level of quality control acceptable, EFI are understandably delighted to make the grade. As Managing Director at Ed Fagan Europe, Chris Mahn, put it: “We are immensely proud of this award as it gives us the opportunity to offer aerospace companies the skills and expertise that we have thrived on for so many years. This will make a massive contribution to the European aerospace industry.”

It caps off double celebration for the company, who are also marking a notable half century in business this year. Indeed, when Ed Fagan Inc. began supplying specialist alloys and rare metals in 1965, it would still be four years before Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon. Several decades later, the materials and expertise EFI specialise in are as highly sought after as ever and used in the production of everything from mobile phones to space satellites.
